Political Situation
Sri Lanka may be
returning to its normal peaceful balanced static and dynamic situation with the
approval of the IMF fund. However, it’s a loss to understand as to why people
lighted firecrackers and celebrated on the streets of Colombo. This is why the
writer stated in one of his articles as the literacy rate does not limit to people who can read and write but understand what they read.
The gravity of the
Sri Lankan economy and people's ambitious situation should be understood by all
people.
Quote Ref: What are moral rights in Sri Lanka?
The rights take two forms: (a) economic rights and (b) moral rights. Economic
rights include the right to reproduce, sell, rent, distribute, communicate with
the public, and translate etc. whereas moral rights cover the right to claim the
authorship and right to oppose distortion or mutilation of the work.
Could we agree that
(a) is in full form? Not in full.
(b) is practised in
full form. People and students are on the road fully disagreeing with what the
government gives them.
2.
LTTE
LTTE is a defunct
terrorist group. Some crooks who are money mongers are trying to say that LTTE
is alive. LTTE was wiped out in 2009 under the military Command of Gen
Sarath Fonseka. GOSL and the citizens should not worry about the
defunct LTTE.
Only those corrupt
Tamils who have no principles in their mind are using the LTTE to collect money
and become rich. Already those LTTE funds have been invested in Supermarkets,
Shopping complexes, conference halls, and businesses elsewhere. They will be
punished as the curse has been thrown at them.
Tamils build
temples in overseas countries. They get grants and aids from their local
state and governments. Tamils cannot boast that they built the temples with
their own money.
GOSL should not
worry about LTTE. That does not mean that the service of the Sri Lankan
intelligence organisation should sleep but be active as usual.
At the current
period, GOSL and the People should trust only those who are honest and
trustworthy, which is Hon Doulas Devananda and the EPDP.
3.
Reconciliation
Quote; Title: Strengthening
Reconciliation Processes in Sri Lanka
The reconciliation process in Sri Lanka is
strengthened. Governmental and non-governmental organisations in Sri Lanka
address key aspects of the reconciliation process jointly.
Yes, everything
except the hurt minds of the Tamils has not been sobered. Now that the
situation is returning to normal, GOSL should review their status and pass a
resolution to “Tender an Apology” for the burning of the Jaffna
Library in 1981, and record it in the gazette. This will cool the minds and the
thoughts of the Tamil people and the politicians.
The tender of the
apology should be passed by the parliament of the GOSL.
The writer
considers this act as a diplomatic and magnanimous act only.
The writer wishes
to add that he has donated more than three dozen engineering books to the
University of Moratuwa, to which he is indebted to the rest of his life.
