Bottleneck Politics
Let us analyze the facts about the Tamils and
Sinhalese. Tamils are enjoying the fruits produced by the Sri Lankan populace,
however, something in their mind leads them to estrange the country and the
majority Sinhalese. Tamils live in and around the island in every nook and
corner. In a way, Tamils are also a liability to the country because in the
N&E, we produce little items for export to earn foreign exchange. It's only
the foreign exchange that the Tamil Diaspora send to their relations that
matters. We must accept the fact that NPP is attempting to help the Tamils in
every way. However, why are some Tamils and Tamil politicians alienating the
NPP and promoting hatred? What do they benefit? Don’t Tamils live in Colombo?
Power is not everything
If we are to identify as Sri Lankans, then we
have to visualize that our platform for governance is the Colombo parliament.
Politicians like SWRD and Srimavo promoted racism to scoop votes to be elected
and govern. SWRD did not understand the counterproductive results that could
arise from legalizing Sinhala as the official language. Most Tamils and
Sinhalese lack knowledge of English. Most Tamils in the backwards places live
like people in the jungles (like Veddas). All those illegal boat people and
refugees still cannot speak English. Countries like the UK and Australia spend
a significant amount of money on translation. Some Tamils were earning and
living through Translation to help the government.
The current local government elections have
proved that the NPP still have a hold in the N&E. When looking at the
results for the Jaffna Municipal Council, NPP also has significant numbers. NPP
has ten seats, against 13 for ITAK and 12 for ACTC. Here who are the
SEPARATIST?
Tamils and Politicians shall focus only on one
strategic vision. Development for the region. How could the JMC develop the
region? There must be a clean majority government with no hatred and opposition
because they are of a different race. Here, race does not count. Cooperation,
collaboration, support and teamwork will bring good results and facilitate
growth. Do we want growth and development in the JMC region?
It is a strong suggestion that the ITAK join
hands with the NPP to govern the JMC. This does not mean that they are getting rid
of the rest of the political parties and their ideology. They can swap the
Mayoral and deputy Mayoral positions every two years.
The focus is on DEVELOPMENT AND BALANCING THE
BUDGET OF THE JMC. WE cannot have and promote racism anymore. MA Sumanthiran is
an educated politician, and NPP has educated personnel, and they should think
and focus on development. This is reality and not imaginary. We can make it
practical.
The country is trending towards transforming to
be a clean country.
